Pair of Geometric Red Lacquered and Brass-Finished Table Lamps, Possibly Attributed to Jean-Claude Mahey

A striking pair of geometric vintage table lamps featuring rectangular red lacquered bodies, brass-finished frames and stepped bases. Each lamp is decorated with an applied character-like ornament, giving the design a distinctive graphic and sculptural quality.

The form and combination of red lacquer, polished metal and applied ornament are strongly reminiscent of 1970s designs attributed to Jean-Claude Mahey. The attribution is suggested by comparison with similar documented examples but cannot be confirmed without a maker’s label or provenance.

The lamps measure approximately 35 cm in height to the lamp holder and approximately 22 cm across the base. The electrical systems have been rewired and are working, but are not certified. Lampshades are not included.

The pair is offered in good vintage condition. One lamp has minor wear to the painted finish at the base, not readily visible in the photographs. Please examine all images carefully, as they form part of the description.

Sold as a pair.
