Create your own fabric-covered drum lampshade with this complete DIY lampshade-making kit from The Lamp Lady. The kit includes a pre-cut fabric covering, the rigid self-adhesive panel, metal rings, an E14 reducer ring and the finishing tools needed to create your lampshade.
Choose one of six fabric designs and either a 20 cm or 30 cm diameter. The finished shade can be assembled for use on a table or floor lamp, or as a pendant shade.
Finished lampshade sizes
- 20 cm diameter × 18 cm high (7.9 × 7.1 in)
- 30 cm diameter × 22 cm high (11.8 × 8.7 in)
Pre-cut fabric sizes
- 20 cm lampshade: approximately 65–70 cm wide × 25 cm high
- 30 cm lampshade: approximately 95–100 cm wide × 28 cm high

The illustrated guide explains how to prepare the fabric, attach it to the PVC panel, position the rings, close the seam and finish the fabric around the rings.

Suitable for table lamps, floor lamps and pendant lights
Before assembly, position the central fitting ring according to the intended use:
- For a table or floor lamp, the central ring faces inwards
- For a pendant shade, the central ring faces outwards
Fitting compatibility
The finished lampshade is compatible with E27 lamp holders. An E14 reducer ring is included.
Please check the dimensions and fitting of your lamp before ordering.
Making time and level
Allow approximately two hours to complete your lampshade. The kit is suitable for beginners. Teenagers may also enjoy making the lampshade with responsible adult supervision.
